The Preparation

Flipping pages in the recipe book and going to the liquor store gets me very excited for my upcoming challenge. However, I'm disappointed in the prices of some of my ingredients. I went to my local liquor store for my Easter Sunday items and of course ended up with a rather large bottle of tequila. But I checked some prices on the shelf... $32.99 for Cointreau, $29.99 for Grand Marnier. A lot of the recipes have triple sec, lime juice, and lemon juice. 1800 Golden tequila will be my choice golden, and I am yet to choose my silver.

As part of my preparation, I am compiling a list of all the margaritas and figure out each of the ingredients so that I always have what I need from week to week! A little obsessed, I know... but I'm very excited! I hope some of you will participate and raise your classes with me! I can't wait to start creating and drinking with you all!

The Plan

If I begin on my 25th Birthday, May 7th, and continue all through summer, I will need to successfully create 5-6 margaritas per week. My completion goal is Labor Day!

Do you think I can do it??

Welcome

In the movie Julie and Julia, a woman named Julie Powell challenged herself to cook all the recipes from the famous Julia Child's cook book, then she blogged about it. Of course, I will not be cooking food, but I will be following very strict recipes. In this particular story, a woman named Julie Moravec will be making, AND best of all, drinking ... One Hundred and One Margaritas!!

I am going to follow the book 101 Margaritas by Kim Haasarud and create each and every recipe. I am going to create beverages all summer long all the while having a very educational experience. Please join me on my journey. I challenge you to try new drink recipes this summer. I will learn what makes the best ingredients and share some of the secrets to a perfect margarita.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!
